The Liaison Office of the University of Siena, together with Advanced Technology Assessment (ATA) S.p.A. will attend BioEurope 2007, an international partnering conference that will take place in Hamburg from 12-14 November 2007. We will be publishing a special article on the conference in the next issue of “LIAISON NEWS ONLINE” and provide a brochure in English on the patents that the University of Siena will present during the conference.

BioEurope brings together the main representatives and decision makers in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and finance sectors and provides opportunities to network and participate in seminars, workshops and one-on-one partnering meetings to present and publicise products and technologies. Investments and collaboration opportunities developed at past BioEurope conferences have led to successful industrial partnerships.
ATA S.p.A. will present the University of Siena’s intellectual property in the one-to-one sessions, as well as being present in the Pavilion Italia.

The University of Siena intends to publicise its own technology through its technological and marketing support agreement with ATA in order to develop licensing agreements for intellectual property developed at the University. The agreement with ATA aims to provide assessment criteria both for new University patent applications and for already existing patents. These strategic analyses are also intended to improve synergy and capacities regarding the recognition of technological breakthroughs with high commercial potential through the use of feedback from international conferences, contacts and collaborations within the ATA group.
