“LIAISON NEWS ONLINE” newsletter is taking part to the Online Communication Competition promoted by the Italian Association for Public and Institutional Communication at COM-PA 2007 (the European Exhibition of Public Communication and Services to the Citizen and Business, Bologna, November 6-8, 2007). The competition aims to promote communications based on new technologies, awarding the public administrations which both professionally and effectively communicate news of real interest.

The mission of the “LIAISON NEWS ONLINE” is stated in its presentation published in the first edition : «The editorial team hopes that this online newsletter will be of real use to those who wish to receive news concerning scientific research, technology transfer, innovation and development».

The newsletter main goal was to create a communication channel helping to promote innovation and scientific research transfer. The use of new web based technologies enables to quickly and effectively reach the audience and to progressively expand it, and also to offer alternative navigation routes through hyperlinks. In the globalisation era, scientific and technology communications, targeting researchers community and national/international companies, has to use new communication technologies. In this context it is clear and understood the necessity of publishing an English version of the newsletter in order to foster the dialogue and comparison with both Italian and non-Italian users.
