Prof. Felice Petraglia

Felice Petraglia is Professor and Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of the Residency Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology and of PhD Program in Molecular Medicine at the University of Siena (Siena, Italy). He earned his MD degree at the University of Siena in 1980. From 1985–1988 he trained at the Salk Institute (La Jolla, CA). He served the University of Modena as Associate Professor from 1992. In 1997 he was appointed Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Udine (Udine, Italy) and moved to his present position in Siena in 2000. Since 2004 he is an Adjunct Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at University of Toronto (Toronto, Canada).

He is Fellow ad Eundem of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), Correspondent Member of the Pontificial Academy for Life (PAL). He is included as expert in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Italian Drug Agency (AIFA) and in the group of expert of the Ministry of University. He was President of the Society for Gynecologic Investigation (SGI) (2008-2009). He was member of the Executive Committee of the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology (ISGE) (2000-2012),member in the Membership Committee of the Endocrine Society (2003-2006), member of the Scientific Committee of the European Association of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (1996-1999), of the Council of the European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (EBCOG) (2006-2010), member of the Executive Board of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) (2009-2012), Deputy of the ESHRE Special Interest Group on Reproductive Endocrinology (2003-2007), President of the Italian Society of the Reproduction (SIdR) (2012).
                                                       
 He is Editor-in-Chief of Human Reproductive Update (2013-), he is member of the Editorial Board of Reproductive Sciences, Journal of Endometriosis, Journal of Endocrinological Investigation, Gynecological Endocrinology, Faculty 1000 Medicine. He was Associate Editor of Human Reproduction Update, member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism (1995-1999), Placenta (1993-1998), the European Journal of Endocrinology (1996-2004). He has received recognition for his accomplishments, including an International Award “Arnaldo Bruno” from the Accademia dei Lincei (2001).
Author or co-author of more than 550 peer reviewed papers in International Journals (IF :2134, HI:57) and co-editor of 25 scientific volumes. He has been invited speaker at International Meetings (n=116); member of Scientific Board (n=25), Scientific Secretary (n.=20) and President (n= 13) of several International Meetings.
