Coordinatore del Master di Secondo Livello in Biomateriali della Facoltà di Farmacia (settembre 2006-agosto 2007).

Promotore di un gemellaggio fra le Università di Siena e di Kyoto (Giappone) che ha portato dal 1990 al 2000 allo scambio di docenti e studenti fra le due Università, in tutte le discipline rappresentate nei due Atenei, ed all’organizzazione di convegni bilaterali interdisciplinari ogni due anni.

 

Promotore e Direttore di un centro di ricerca di tecnologie biomediche (C.R.I.S.M.A.) dell'Università di Siena diventato dal 1992 Centro Interuniversitario a cui partecipano le Università di Siena, Bologna, Milano, Napoli e Bari.

 

Direttore del Corso Europeo Avanzato sui Biomateriali tenuto ogni due anni a Siena (aprile 1987; aprile 1989; aprile 1991, aprile 1993, aprile 1996, marzo 1998).

 

Direttore del Sottoprogetto Biomateriali del C.N.R. nell'ambito del Progetto Finalizzato Materiali Speciali per Tecnologie Avanzate 2 dal 1999.

 

Promotore del Polo Universitario di Colle di Val d’Elsa (SI), Centro Didattico e di Ricerca con l’istituzione di un Corso di Laurea in Chimica e Tecnologia dei Materiali e Presidente del Comitato Tecnico-Scientifico.

E' stato membro del Project Management Group della Commissione delle Comunità Europee (Medical Research Program - Euro. Biomat. Mat.).

 

E' stato più volte valutatore dei progetti europei sia per quanto riguarda il programma BIOMED che BRITE-EURAM della Comunità Europea

 

Awards

Riconoscimento conferito dal Gruppo Interdivisionale Biomateriali della Società Chimica Italiana “per l’alto contributo dato negli anni allo sviluppo della ricerca in Italia nel campo dei biomateriali”, (1995).
