Kurt Martens is researcher at the faculty of canon law in Leuven since 1997. In 2003, he was visiting professor at the Institut de droit canonique of the Marc Bloch University in Strasbourg. He is a member of the board of the Werkgroep Nederlandstalige Canonisten (association of Dutch speaking canon lawyers). His publications deal with canon law and with the relations between church and state (law and religion).
