At University of Siena is active a second level Master on "Safety evaluation of cosmetic products".

The aim of the Master is to give a deeper insight into the aspects of cosmetic products safety profile and this in accordance with the recent guidelines of the European Commission which define the chemical-analytical, microbiological and toxicological characteristics of products and raw material used in cosmetics.

In addition, the Master will provide a set of information on the technological instruments required for a laboratory and the theoretical and practical knowledge required for the preparation of highly qualified specialists.

Information on administrative rules will be also provided in accord with actual European law for cosmetic production.

The lectures are complemented by final practical training on how to compose a technical Dossier on main cosmetic ingredients and products.

The courses will start in April 2011. The timetable of the lectures will be made available by the Master secretary Teaching will take place at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Siena, and at the Interdepartmental Centre of Cosmetic Science and Technology.
