Participants will have the possibility of visiting major museums in Siena and the "Opificio delle Pietre Dure" in Florence, free of charge, during the entire length of the Symposium.

Sunday 11
A Welcome Party will be held at the Santa Maria della Scala Complex in the evening


Monday 12
An evening reception for the 50th anniversary of the Archaeometry Journal will be held in the Cortile del Podestà of the Town Hall, sponsored by the Wiley-Blackwell Publishing Company

Wednesday 14
In the afternoon the following tours will be organized:

- guided tour of the major monuments of the town. Participants will have the chance to reserve their spot on the tour during the conference

- guided tour of the "bottini", medieval underground aqueduct (limit 30 people). Click here to reserve a spot and to see more information;

Thursday 15
A Symposium Banquet will be organized at additional cost of 50 euro at Antico Granaio di Montaperti http://www.anticogranaiosiena.it/ location suitable for live music and dancing.
Montaperti, a small village located very close to Siena, is an historic place where an important battle was fought on September 4th 1260, between Florence and Siena, during the conflict between the Guelphs and Ghibellines. Farinata degli Uberti, the most famous participant to the battle, was immortalised by Dante Alighieri in his poem The Divine Commedy.

The reservation has to be made on line not later than April 25th along with the payment.
